Fuller Long has helped our client secure listed building consent for internal works to a prominent Grade II listed 1920s office block in Bloomsbury, central London.

The exterior of the building is of high architectural value and makes a positive contribution to the character and appearance of the surrounding area. However the proposals affected only the basement of the building and Fuller Long produced a Heritage Statement to demonstrate that this area was of low significance within the overall context of the listed building.

The Statement argued that the works would therefore have no harmful impact on the special architectural or historic interest of the listed building. Combined with the efficiency of the local planning authority’s Conservation Officer, listed building consent was granted only 2 weeks after formal submission.
