Fuller Long are delighted to welcome and introduce our newest member of our co-operative, Jon Bishop.
Jon is a Chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. He is a professionally qualified and experienced planning and development specialist with extensive knowledge and skills in residential, commercial and mixed use development. Jon has in-depth experience of all aspects of development projects and the planning process, including appearing as an expert witness at public inquiries and representing clients at Core Strategy Examinations.
Jon regularly provides planning advice to a wide range of clients including private landowners, developers and local authorities and his experience in managing major projects, where a number of specialist skills and inputs need to be drawn together, has enhanced his extensive knowledge of planning legislation and the technical planning issues associated with all planning applications and appeals.
Jon’s diverse knowledge and experience includes involvement in residential, commercial and mixed use development. Some examples include:
Managing the ‘One Woolwich’ project, comprising the demolition of 1,064 existing on-site units across the three sites and their replacement with up to 1,615 units (including 35% affordable homes). The process included substantial pre application discussions and consultations with key stakeholders and the GLA.
Securing planning permission for a new 279 bedroom hotel in Stratford town centre. The process involved detailed discussions with the London Legacy Development Corporation at the pre application stage in addition to working closely with the Quality Review Panel to ensure the application was well received by the planning committee.
Jon was also responsible for delivering a planning consent and maximising the value of important assets. This included major sites in Basingstoke, Mid Sussex, Bracknell, Hart District, Horsham, Worthing and Tandridge ranging in size from 65 to 480 units.
