Fuller Long are delighted to welcome two new consultants, Tom Webster and Miriam Volic, bringing with them a wealth of experience to both our Planning and Heritage departments!

Tom Webster

Tom is a Chartered Town Planner with over 13 years experience and has been brought in to spearhead our expansion into the Cambridge area. Until recently he worked for Cambridge City Council, where he handled a large number of major and minor applications, giving him an excellent understanding of Cambridge and the surrounding area.

His planning experience includes planning policy formation, economic development, regeneration schemes, project management and S106 negotiations. His past work has also covered extensions, permitted development rights, Prior Approval applications, listed building alterations and development within conservation areas and the Green Belt. Additionally, whilst working in Local Government, Tom successfully represented local planning authorities at Public Inquiries, Informal Hearings and through Written Representations.

Miriam Volic

Miriam has spent most of her professional career handling projects in architecture and design as well as conservation and historic buildings in both the public and private sectors in the UK and abroad and will provide further expertise to our Heritage team. From 1989 Miriam worked as a design architect in various London practices. In 1997, Miriam started her collaboration with architectural practice Heritage Architecture, which specialises solely with issues relating to historic environment. After becoming a full member of staff., Miriam spent the next 11 years expanding their London Office, working on a variety of projects exclusively related to heritage and conservation. In 2012, Miriam became an independent heritage consultant and has been working as such, ever since.

Miriam’s experience includes involvement with a wide range of services: providing general heritage advice, preparing heritage documents for planning submissions on behalf of clients within the public and private sectors, negotiations with local authorities and Historic England, as well as production of Schedules of Significance, Visual Impact Assessments, architectural drawings and feasibility studies.

We pride ourselves on providing our clients with high quality advice in the Planning and Heritage sectors and so are excited for Tom and Miriam to join our co-operative of property professionals.
