Significant extension in a conservation area

Fuller Long helped our client substantially extend their detached home in the Hockering Conservation Area in Woking, Surrey. The approved application was for the erection of two storey rear and side extensions, a single storey side extension, two storey front infill extension, formation of side dormer window and erection of two timber gates with brick piers to site frontage.

A previous application and appeal at the property had been unsuccessful due to the effect of the proposals on the character and appearance of the property and surrounding area, and the effect on the living conditions of nearby residents with particular reference to overlooking and privacy.

Fuller Long worked very hard to overcome the objections to the refusal of the previous application by successfully demonstrating that the revised extensions to the house took into account the advice of the previous case officer and conservation officer. The design complimented the character of the locally listed building, were compatible with its character and appearance, and would not harm the general appearance of the area or any residential amenities.

Managing Partner Ryan Fuller said “Our team worked tirelessly on this project to gain a positive outcome. We would like to thank our client for his unwavering trust in our professional ability.”
