Cat Accommodation

Commercial Premises:

One of our more unusual proposals was for a cattery (cat accommodation) in Camberley, Surrey.

Our client approached us after he was advised during pre-application enquiries that planning permission was unlikely to be granted since he was looking to provide a new building within the countryside. During our site visit it became evident that there was a vacant building which could be utilised for the prospective commercial enterprise. Nicky Ottaway, a partner of Fullerlong, undertook further pre-application discussions with the Council on this basis and after initial resistance from officers, she managed to persuade the Council that the proposals to repurpose the vacant building were entirely acceptable in planning terms.

Subsequently, the application submitted by our practice gained planning permission, which meant a happy client…purrfect.
