Ellen specialises in documentary archival research across the UK for conservation specialists, architects and other property professionals as well as private homeowners.

She graduated in 2001 with an honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and History from Birkbeck College, London, then attained a Postgraduate Diploma in the Conservation of Historic Buildings from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in 2006 before returning to Birkbeck and completing an MA in Historical Research in 2014.

The core of Ellen’s work consists of providing essential architectural and historical information to support planning applications and requests for listed building consent. She is a member of the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain (SAHGB) and an Affiliate member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC), as well as a Guardian for the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
